Mardi Himal

Mardi Himal is a compact trek in the Annapurna region, climbing through forest to increasingly open ridges with close views of Machhapuchhre and the Annapurna range in clear conditions.

← All trekking regions
Highest pointMardi Himal Base Camp area: around 4,500 m
Typical itineraryOften 5–7 days
AccessUsually via Pokhara and Kande or another trailhead
SeasonsGenerally spring and autumn

The upper trail can be exposed, narrow and cold. Conditions and teahouse availability vary by season, so avoid relying on a fixed itinerary without checking locally.

This is not a zero-risk “easy” trek simply because it is short; altitude, weather and steep terrain still require sensible planning.

Know before you go

  • Check conditions on the exposed upper ridge.
  • Carry waterproof layers and warm insulation.
  • Do not continue upward in poor visibility or unsafe weather.

Confirm current conditions and requirements with a qualified local operator before departure.
